Sahl ibn Sa’d narrates from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him): “There is a gate of Paradise, and its name is Rayyan. Where are the Fasters on the Day of Judgement? is called As soon as the last of them enters, this door closes.
It is narrated from Abu Huraira, may God bless him and grant him peace: “The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: There are some fasting people for whom there is nothing but hunger for their fasting . They said that there are some people who wake up at night, and nothing but sleeplessness will happen to them because of their wakefulness.
It is narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: “When the Messenger of God , may God bless him and grant him peace, entered the (last) ten days of Ramadan, he would set the night, wake up his family, and fasten his loins.”
It is narrated from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him: “The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: When Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise will be opened, the gates of Hell will be closed, and the devils will be chained.”
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: “Our Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Take help from the morning meal to the midday fast, and from deep sleep to the resurrection of the night.”
It is narrated from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: “The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: If he wishes, he can make the punishment of Ramadan scattered, or consecutive if he wishes.”
It is narrated from Anas, may Allah be pleased with him: “The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Have breakfast. Because there is a blessing in the morning, they said.
It is narrated from Abu Umamah, may God be pleased with him: “I said: O Messenger of God, command me to do something that God will benefit from.” He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Fasting is obligatory, there is nothing like it.”
It is narrated on the authority of Umm Ummara Ansariya, may God bless him and grant him peace: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, entered the presence of this Companion, and she prepared food. They said, “Eat yourself.” He said, “I am fasting.” Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “When others eat in front of a person who is fasting, the angels pray for the fasting person until they finish eating (or until they are full).”
