Technical Training Institutes or formally known by a more popular term as TVETS (Technical Vocational Education Training, are pivotal in ensuring access to education for all.
Initially very few students were lucky to join university, with a majority left to fend for themselves in the informal sector, the jua kali sector.
Emining Technical Training Institute (TTI) located Mogotio, Baringo established in 2014 currently boasts of a two thousand student population and it’s under the very wise and able leadershipof the principal Jacob Kotut.
Students enroll in this top institution to pursue Artisan, Craft, Certificate and Diploma courses.
Kotut welcomed all students enrolling to pursue technical courses, including graduates from the Kenya National Youth Service (NYS).
He said courses offered include Science, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Driving, Cosmetic and Hair dressing.
“All our courses are examined by National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), KNEC and KASNEB” Principal said.
At the same time he added, “All our courses are assessed and examined by TVET CDACC, an assessment that offers practice and theory.”
