Azimio La Umoja Kenya Moja coalition Deputy President Candidate Martha Karua yesterday held a consultative meeting with members of Agìkùyù community living in the cosmopolitan Nakuru County.
The meeting, the first in a series planned for individual communities in such cosmopolitan area was meant to listen to issues affecting the community members residing there and further drum up support for coalition candidates vying various political seats.
Area governor Lee Kinyanjui said the coalition leadership would meet different communities at varying times to listen and chat the way forward.
“We thank Azimio running mate Hon. Martha Karua for gracing today’s meeting where leaders and members from the Kikuyu Community from Nakuru County gathered to discuss various issues. This is part of a series of ongoing engagements with different communities in the county to respond to their issues and concerns,” the governor said after the meeting.
The key concerns raised during the meeting included security during and after elections as well as respect to private property and development matters.
On her part, Karua on behalf of the Azimio Coalition gave an undertaking to address the issues raised mainly on security and respect to private property.
She also assured Nakuru of continuity of life-changing projects such as the Rironi-Mau Summit road.
