Establishment of crisis communication in institutions plays a crucial role for the safety of students and staff during emergencies. For effective crisis management proactive, comprehensive approach that includes planning, training, mental health support, security measures and post crisis recovery.
On emergencies institutions should develop comprehensive emergency plans covering various scenarios such as natural disasters, medical emergencies and pandemics. Training of staff and students helps ensure everyone know how to respond to different emergencies.
Teachers and staff should also be trained to recognise signs of distress and provide initial support and referrals to mental health professionals.
The institutions security can also be covered by securing of entry points, surveillance cameras and on site security personnel .
Debriefing and evaluation should also be done after crisis to identify areas of improvement. This helps in aiming to achieve educational goals efficiently and effectively.
