Projects For Marsabit County In The Fourth Medium-Term Plan

By MKT Reporter

The government has announced several development projects for Marsabit County in the fourth medium-term plan (MTPIV) 2023–2027, aiming to boost economic growth and improve lives.

These include addressing water scarcity, establishing livestock feedlots, and addressing climate change adaptation and food security programmes.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki emphasised the importance of allocating national resources and cautioned against sectionalism and tribal politics.

The fourth MTP, under which the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) is anchored, has been allocated millions of shillings to fund projects such as borehole rehabilitation, water pan development, irrigation schemes, fish landing sites, and leather aggregation centres.

Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali praised the Kenya Kwanza administration for restoring peace and security in the county, stating that this has created an enabling environment for growth and transformation.
