Earlier today Dr. Isaac GM Andabwa ( OGW) the National General Secretary, KNPSWU the sole and legal Union representing guards in Kenya appealed to the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH to relook into the suffering of guards and enforce existing policies and laws geared towards cushioning the rights and welfare of  the officers.

Addressing the 4th estate team, Dr. Andabwa cited the challenges witnessed and met to the officers during the Anti- Tax protests across the country.

Despite offering complementary roles to state security officers in protecting life and property, the guards were left vulnerable and to the mercy of God.

Many have been seriously injured and hospitalized as a result of the demos.

I appeal to the Government to boldly address the existing and emerging challenges in the sector which range from poor working aura, renumeration, obsolete tools of trade, inadequate capacity building and their welfare challenges.

By doing these, the sector will effectively and adequately address the thorny issue of unemployment and further supply sufficient human capital for export in line with the Government’s BETA policies, said Dr. Andabwa .

He further appealed to the Government to equally address the squalid working conditions in the police force in terms of housing, salaries, uniforms and general welfare.

The actions of GEN-Z’s are an eye opener to All and in particular to our leaders right from presidency, executive, state offices and county governments.

I appeal to GEN~Z’s to heed and accept the Presidents olive hand and structurally embrace dialogue in pursuit of getting holistic solutions to the existing challenges bedeviling Kenya for posterity and not just about the finance bill 2024

Dr. Andabwa took swipe with the political class for hypocrisy and double- speak. The current challenges affecting Kenya have been inherited from previous regimes and the late Koffi Annan within the Agenda 4:pin- pointed inequality, land and historical injustices, poverty, electoral malpractices, unemployment among the youths and women as key issues affecting Kenya.

The then handshake and subsequent governments have done little to address the issues leaving them to balloon and escalate to what we are witnessing.

Dr. William Ruto CGH , should not bear the brand as an individual. added Dr. Andabwa.

I appeal to the political class and Kenyans at large to reconsider the BBI and now the NADCO reports and adopt a harmonized document that focuses at addressing equality, inclusivity, ethnic antagonism, land and electoral injustices for fairness, good leadership and governance moving forward.

We have a beloved Country called Kenya and at any given moment let us not turn it into anarchy, added Dr. Andabwa.
