Othaya MP Sponsors Football Team For A Coastal Tour After Emerging Tops In Mountain Region Tournament

Othaya Member of Parliament Michael Wambugu Wainaina alias MountKenya has sponsored a football team from his constituency for a weeklong tour of the coast region.
This comes days after the team; Othaya All Stars emerged third among more than 60 teams that have beeb competing in a tournament sponsored by Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
The team emerged third in the semifinals after beating Ol-Karou.
With the win, the team is expected to pocket KSh1.2 million.
The winner will take home KSh5 million with the second getting KSh3 million. The finals will be played on August 4 and Kirigiti stadium, Kiambu between Ruiru Football club and Isiolo North Football club.
Yesterday, Othaya All Stars led by Waithaka Kinyua embarked on the full paid trip.
Kinyua, the team coach said they will be visiting several places in the Coastal region and were hoping to be joined by the philanthropic MP at the weekend.
“We are very happy our MP kept his word. He promised to sponsor a tour to coast if we made it to semifinals. We are very grateful,” Kinyua told this publication while enroute to Mombasa.
On his part, tha law maker noted,” I remain committed to supporting all talents across our Constituency.
