One of the beneficiaries of the Mama Ibado Charity Organisation senior healthcare and feeding programme, Josphine Tabitha. Mentors provide personalised assistance on how to apply for education scholarships during a mentorship programme at the White Rhino hotel in Nyeri. According to Hellen Meria, the Director of the Option Education Agency, the goal was to provide personalised guidance to help students set realistic goals and create actionable plans. “Studying abroad is not just a dream; it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and bring back valuable skills to our communities,” Hellen emphasized. “Some students choose to return home to contribute to our country, while others may pursue permanent residency abroad.” “We’ve decided to bring Australia to Nyeri, making it easier for students to explore their options. We believe Australia is an exceptional study destination,” Hellen stated. Joy Maingi, one of the participants, expressed her gratitude for the empowerment session, saying it restored her confidence in pursuing scholarships and her dreams of studying abroad. “I never thought studying abroad was possible. Now I feel prepared to take the next steps,” Joy shared.
A section of Nyeri County Members of Parliament paid a courtesy to Lands and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome where they discussed various issues domiciled in her docket. The MPs were Wambugu Wainaina (Othaya), Geoffrey Wandeto (Tetu), Maina Mathenge (Nyeri Town) and John Kaguchia (Mukurwe-ini). The CS and her team engaged candidly with them on prioritization of upcoming projects and following up on those that are ongoing. The senior government officials who accompanied the CS were led by Housing PS Charles Hinga.
