Elders in Mt Kenya region have called on the Presidency to have cordial sitting and iron out any disagreements that may have occurred.
Led by Amani Kwa Wote Association chairman Paul Kariuki Mwiti, the elders noted that the region voted for president William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua in the believe that the duo had a working chemistry and should not be disapproved by an acrimonious separation.
“No disagreement can not be resolved through dialogue and reconciliation and we urge our two leaders to sit down and iron out whatever differences for national cohesion and development to thrive,” noted Kariuki.
The elders who were addressing journalists at Central Hotel in Nyeri town said that voters in the region voted for the Head of State and his deputy because they had confidence in Riggy G and believed that the two long time friends would deliver seamlessly.
Kariuki who is also the Executive Director of Mt Kenya Maumau Veterans further declared that they would hold national prayers at the Ruring’u stadium in Nyeri on the 25th day of this month to thank the Almighty God for the recent rains that brought to an end a four year drought and a subsequent end to famine.
Another elder, Pius Njogu urged the president forestall a looming eruption of the political volcano that’s Mt Kenya whose ramifications would be both socially and economically unwarranted.
“Mama mbogas, bodaboda youth and the general hustler fraternity are waiting for actualisation of the election pledges made by the Kenya Kwanza leaders,” pleaded the Maumau Veterans Association member.
The leaders met under the Mount Kenya Council of Elders which comprises of religious and cultural elders
