Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development CS Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, during the launch of the National Organizing Committee for the 24th East African Community MSME at his NSSF building office ahead of the regional trade fair slated for Juba, South Sudan in December. He was flanked by his Principal Secretary Susan Mang’eni and other officials.

Principal Secretary for State Department of Agriculture Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh has said the country is on track in addressing food and nutrition security through implementation of various government interventions aligned to BETA plan and good weather conditions. Dr. Ronoh said the fertilizer subsidy Programme has driven a 43% increase in maize production, with food insecure Kenyans declining from 1.9 million to 1 million people in 2024.
“In the past, we have faced challenges such as high input costs, climate change, prolonged droughts, floods and limited access to financial services, but have made significant strides,” said the PS at his Kilimo House office in Nairobi.
Government is constructing a Greenpark Terminus Pedestrian Underpass Network along Uhuru Highway-Haile Selassie intersection roundabout in Nairobi at a cost of KSh2,017,116,059 to address the pedestrian traffic conflict and time delays. Engineer Jared Makori from Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) said the project which is funded by the government through the Road Maintenance Levy Fund will enhance safety for all road users and provide a safe environment for business activities. He said the 32% completion of underpass works is expected to enhance economic sector performance and social service delivery in Nairobi’s Central Business District.
Eng. Makori disclosed that over 21,000 pedestrians use Uhuru Highway-Haile Selassie intersection roundabout per day while pedestrians crossing the road during peak hours total 8,500.
