Nyeri County Government, through the Department of Medical Services and Public Health, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AIC Kijabe Hospital.
AIC Kijabe Hospital is a registered, non-profit, private hospital with the sole mission of training competent health professionals while providing quality medical services.
Speaking at his office yesterday during the MOU signing ceremony, Nyeri CECM Health Dr. Joseph Maina Kiragu said the memorandum establishes a collaborative partnership between AIC Kijabe Hospital and Nyeri County Referral Hospital.
The Kijabe Hospital delegation was led by Dr. Peter Nthumbah, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon/clinical epidemiologist.
Dr. Kiragu said the agreement was designed to expand the scope of practical training for doctors in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
He said the MOU would be effective for five years, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
Kiragu said the partnership marked a significant step towards strengthening healthcare training and service delivery in Nyeri County.
Others Present during the ceremony were Mr. Ibrahim Adan—Chief Officer for Health, Dr. Nelson Muriu—Director of Health, Dr. Shaban Saidi—Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Nyeri County Referral Hospital; and the Kijabe Hospital delegation led by Dr. Peter Nthumbah (plastic and reconstructive surgeon/clinical epidemiologist).
