The second Mwai Kibaki Memorial Lecture was observed yesterday with leaders praising him for reviving the economy.
The leaders, mainly from the opposition wing noted that the late Kibaki selflessly served Kenyans and is always remembered for uplifting the citizens standards of living.
The memorial, held at Serena Hotel, Nairobi was organized by his family, Democratic Party of Kenya and Democratic Foundation International.
Some of the leaders who graced the occasion included former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, former Cabinet Secretaries Justin Muturi, Eugene Wamalwa as well as former Ministers during his reign; Joseph Munyao, Dr Muktisa Kituyi, Kibutha Kibwana.
Also not left behind was former Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi, former MPs Cate Waruguru, Norman Nyaga, former Intelligence boss Michael Gichangi as well as current MPs; Jayne Kihara and Gathoni Muchomba.
The family of the former President was represented by his daughter Judy Wanjiku and grandson Mwai Kibaki Jnr.
Also present was former Head of Public Service Francis Muthaura and the DP party fraternity led by Acting party leader Veronica Maina, chairman Essau Kioni and Secretary General Jacob Haji.
