Othaya Constituency Member of Parliament Wambugu Wainaina alias Kìrìma has launched a machine that will ease operations of some artisans in the area.
The MP noted that mechanical department evolves around skilled personnel who play a vital role in building, maintaining and repairing machinery, especially engines.
While commissioning the hydraulic press machine which he donated through his charity organisation; Wambugu Wainaina Foundation, the MP noted that the machine will be used to remove and install bearings, bushings, gears, ball joints, U-joints, pulleys, etc.
“It is easy to operate. You will be able to create substantial pressure for your arbor and press-out jobs, with little effort,” he observed after commissiong it at Kiaraho-ini Artisans Jua Kali Association yard.
The press can also be used for electric motor and armature repair, installation and removal of pressure-fitted parts, and bending or straightening of metals both in vehicles and motorcycles.
The move comes as other several projects, through his foundation are ongoing in various parts of the Constituency.
These include building decent houses of underprivileged residents and settling school fees and hospital bills for the less fortunate.
