A relationship is not a thing,

but a becoming—

a bridge built daily

from glances, choices,

small forgivenesses.

It begins in spark,

in laughter too loud,

in the quiet joy

of someone knowing how you take your coffee.

Then comes the weight—

the real work:

learning that love isn’t always a feeling

but often a decision

to stay when it’s easier to drift.

It’s texts at midnight

and silence that still feels safe.

It’s the long conversations

and the comfort of not needing words at all.

It grows in the cracks:

after arguments,

in apologies,

in the holding of hands

when neither of you knows what comes next.

It bends, stretches,

sometimes breaks,

but if you’re lucky—

if both are willing—

it mends into something stronger.

A relationship is made

of two people becoming

not one,

but better versions

side by side
