A caucus of former freedom fighters and their descendants will be presenting petitions in all public engagement forums set over the next financial year’s budget.
Mau Mau War Veterans Association has mobilized its members across the country to take part in the exercise that is set to determine the country’s financial discourse in the next 12 months, upto June 30th next year.
At the same time, the association official James Njuguna Mahuria disclosed that the members will be attending this year’s Madaraka day Celebrations in Kitale, Trans Nzoia county.
Mahuria said they had received the attendance invitation through the area county’s Commissioner.
At the celebrations, the former freedom fighters are expected to air their concerns over delayed compensation.

On next year’s financial budget, representatives of the former fighters and some of their descendants are today expected to take part in public participation exercise for Nairobi County at South C area.
On Sunday, hundreds of members are expected to attend the Madaraka celebrations before embarking on public participation from Monday.
Further, some members of the caucus who live outside the country are expected to travel back on the country for the exercise.
The move comes just days after the government, through the National Assembly announced plans to recruit members of the Public Benefits Organization (PBO) tribunal officials who they hope will unlock their compensation deadlock.
Mahuria urged the thousands of members to ensure they actively take part in the national activities, more so, those with special interests for them.
Meanwhile, the former freedom fighters have sought the assistance of the government for a second off to one of their members.
Through a letter to the Embu County Governor, Cecily Mbarire, they want the government to intervene and assist in the final sendoff of the late Peter Nduma Gichoni, who passed on recently.
The letter seeking assistance is signed by the War Veterans Association officials, Pius Mugo , Githiga Gikonyo and Dr Jane Mumbi Ngethe.
The former freedom fighter is set to be buried on Friday.
