Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang has appealed to community members having complex land issues to address it using the National Land Commission for quick redress.
Governor Sang said the Constitution established the NLC specifically to handle land-related issues affecting individuals, communities, public institutions, and companies across the country. His remarks were in response to the ongoing controversy surrounding Ngerek land in Chepkumia Division, where residents occupying the land have petitioned the government through court proceedings to de-gazette the land from forest land to a settlement scheme. He urged the petitioners to withdraw the case from court and present it before the NLC, noting that it would allow for a quicker and more structured resolution process.
