C&G Company, a fast-rising player in Kenya’s manufacturing and logistics sector, has outlined a bold and socially inclusive sustainability strategy aimed at transforming its business operations beyond 2025. During a media roundtable held in Nairobi on Tuesday, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) shared a comprehensive plan focused on climate action, community empowerment, and green mobility innovations.

“We are building a business model that not only reduces environmental impact but uplifts lives,” the CEO stated. “Sustainability must begin with people and be anchored in equity.”

At the heart of C&G’s post-2025 strategy is a commitment to social inclusivity ensuring that marginalized groups, particularly youth, women, and persons with disabilities, are meaningfully integrated into the company’s value chain. The CEO revealed that C&G has rolled out targeted capacity-building programs for youth in informal settlements, training them in renewable energy technologies, digital logistics, and mechanical repairs for electric vehicles.

The company is also forging partnerships with local women-led cooperatives to supply biodegradable packaging materials, further boosting local enterprise while reducing plastic dependency. In its factories, C&G has introduced inclusive hiring practices and is working towards a gender-balanced workforce by 2027.

“We are creating opportunities where they’ve long been missing,” the CEO said. “Our aim is to ensure that every stage of our growth leaves no one behind.”

A standout innovation in the company’s green agenda is the introduction of electric motorcycles and tuk-tuks into its distribution network. This move is expected to significantly cut emissions and operational costs, while also creating new income streams for informal sector transporters.

Dubbed the “Green Wheels Initiative,” the project involves converting existing fleets to electric power, with support from a financing model tailored to low-income earners. The CEO said the company is working with microfinance institutions to help youth and women in the logistics sector acquire EVs on affordable terms.

“We see two-wheel and three-wheel EVs as a game-changer not just for clean transport, but for dignified livelihoods,” he explained. “We’re enabling boda boda and tuk-tuk operators to become green ambassadors.”

In collaboration with local universities and tech hubs, C&G is also investing in EV charging infrastructure, with the first pilot stations to be launched in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Nakuru by early 2026. The company projects that 60% of its last-mile deliveries will be conducted using electric vehicles within the next three years.

Beyond green transport, the company is implementing low-emission manufacturing, solar-powered warehouses, and a rigorous waste recycling policy aligned with the circular economy model.

To ensure transparency and stakeholder engagement, C&G will publish annual sustainability impact reports, benchmarked against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As Kenya accelerates toward Vision 2030 and meets its global climate obligations, C&G Company is positioning itself as a trailblazer leveraging innovation, inclusivity, and bold leadership to build a future where business, people, and planet can thrive together.
