Stop saying I wish, begin with I will,
Each step you take will light your way,
A lazy mind will keep you still,
But effort brings success one day.
Knowledge is power, that’s what we hear,
But unused learning fades away,
Apply it well, your path is clear,
And wisdom guides you every day.
Dreams alone will not take you far,
Hard work is the seed that makes you grow,
Your aim will shine like a guiding star,
If steady hands your labor show.
“I can” is good, it starts the fight,
“I tried” will prove your courage strong,
“I did it” shines with greatest light,
That echo lasts your whole life long.
So try, and try, don’t ever rest,
Each effort builds the path that’s yours,
With will and work you’ll reach the best,
And open wide life’s golden doors.
