Nairobi, Kenya — The Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Eng. Silas Kinoti, has voiced strong support for the government’s National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project, calling it a transformative initiative aimed at empowering Kenya’s youth to shape the country’s development future.

Speaking during a recent engagement, Eng. Kinoti emphasized that youth-focused programs must extend beyond job creation to foster innovation, empowerment, and a sense of ownership in national progress.

“National youth opportunities are not just about employment — they are about empowerment, innovation, and ownership of our nation’s future,” he stated.

He reiterated KURA’s commitment to creating platforms where young people can gain practical skills, take on leadership roles, and contribute meaningfully to Kenya’s infrastructure and economic growth.

“At KURA, we continue to create spaces where young people can learn, lead, and leave a lasting mark on Kenya’s development journey,” he added.

The NYOTA Project, funded by the World Bank and spearheaded under the leadership of President Dr. William Ruto, aims to equip youth across the country with employability skills, mentorship, and startup capital. The initiative is designed to help young Kenyans learn, earn, and thrive in a rapidly evolving economy.
