DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has urged young people to take charge of the country’s future by actively participating in leadership.
Speaking during the DCP Youth League forum at the party’s headquarters, Gachagua challenged the youth to vie for leadership positions, emphasizing that they are the most vital stakeholders; the present and the future of Kenya.
The former Deputy President noted that if things go wrong, the youth will bear the brunt of the consequences, but they stand to benefit most if the country moves in the right direction.
Revisiting Gen-Z demonstrations and the associated violence, Gachagua condemned the killings and denounced the heinous acts, affirming his opposition to violence and unrest.

He commended the youth for their role in standing against vices and urged them to see their involvement in national affairs as a duty with destiny.
He pointed to the 2027 elections as a pivotal moment where the youth can help rewrite Kenya’s history for the better.
On their participation in party activities, Gachagua reassured the youth that the DCP Party is their party, emphasizing that he is merely a conduit for their voices.
He encouraged them to mobilize their peers to register as voters and obtain identification cards.
He also pledged that committed youth members will be considered for nomination positions in the upcoming general elections.
Regarding his plans for youth engagement, Gachagua emphasized that if elected President, he intends to fully involve young people in his government and appoint them to key leadership positions.
Responding to President William Ruto’s recent statement that he no longer has a strong candidate, Gachagua reiterated that the contest will be between William Ruto and the people of Kenya, not against any opposition candidate.
He further criticized the President for allegedly failing to fulfill promises made to Kenyans.
Gachagua was accompanied by several prominent leaders, including Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thangwa, Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, Embakasi Central MP MejjaDonk Gathiru, Kigumo MP Kamau Munyoro, Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji, Starehe MP Amos Mwago, Gatanga MP Edward Muriu and DCP Nairobi County coordinator Irungu Nyakera, among others
