Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki yesterday led a last datch appeal to Mbeere North voters to support the UDA candidate Leonard Wamuthende Leo.
Kindiki led several senior national and Embu county governments officials in drumming up support for Leo as they trashed his main challenger Newton Kariuki of Democratic Party and who is being backed by United Opposition.
“The difference between UDA Candidate in Thursdayβs by-election Leo Wamuthende and his competitors is as clear as day and night. Wamuthende has committed to establish a Special Education Fund to supplement government bursaries and ensure all needy students access quality education, push for additional funding for electricity connectivity in Mbeere North Constituency and the completion of 8 major roads that are being upgraded to bitumen standard including the road that connects Kanyuambora and Ishiara Townships,” the DP who led several Cabinet Secretaries and other senior officials said.
He continued, “Wamuthende also stands for the connection and reticulation of water to all the homes in Mbeere North from Kiambere Dam to comprehensively address the water shortage challenges in the Constituency.”
