I sit alone and quietly think
why my days vanish in a blink,
why I keep running without a call
when life is gentle, calm, and small.
Nothing urges me to race,
no shadow follows, no storm to face.
Still I rush through every hour,
as if my speed could measure power.
I work so hard but don’t know why,
as though my peace might pass me by,
as though my worth depends on pain,
as though my rest could bring me shame.
But when I pause, my heart can hear
a truth that whispers soft and clear:
I’m tired of carrying silent weight,
I long for moments that gently wait.
Maybe I’m learning, slow and true,
I don’t need to prove all I do.
I’m allowed to stop, to breathe, to stay—
the world won’t break if I delay.
So now I speak to the child inside,
the one who’s struggled hard to hide:
you’re safe, you’re held, you’re growing through…
let the world wait for you.
You don’t have to run anymore.
