Jamii Imara Mashinani Caucus Ends The Year In Style, A Visit To The Aged And A Dinner Meeting
A caucus for Kenya Kwanza Administration’s appointees from the Mountain region and Diaspora concluded this year’s public engagement by making a visit to a home for the aged.
The caucus; Jamii Imara Mashinani led by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni took their philanthropic initiative to Mji wa Huruma Care Centre in Runda area, Westlands constituency where they had lively engagement with scores of senior citizens living there.
Ms Muthoni said the centre plays a critical role in providing shelter, basic healthcare and daily care to elderly citizens who lack family support or adequate means of care in Nairobi and neighbouring counties.
The PS said the initiative reflects the Government’s people-centred approach to social protection, particularly for vulnerable groups.
The PS and other speakers noted that strengthening community-based support systems remains a priority, adding that initiatives such as Jamii Imara Mashinani are designed to bring services closer to the people while promoting inclusion and social cohesion.
Later the team had a dinner where they took time to reflect on this year’s activities as they urged each member to be the government’s good ambassador during this festive season.
Jamii Imara Mashinani is a grassroots-focused initiative that promotes the activities of President William Ruto’s government and through engagements with local residents help to identify needs at the community level.
