A young girl from Kakamega County leaves behind a shocking letter.

”Napenye utanipata upite kama mwenye unijui kwa sababu sasa niko hai haunitaki kunuona.” This is an excerpt of the letter.

Melvin wrote this letter after she learnt that her father does not have any intention of taking her to the secondary school. When her fellow peers were reporting to various school.

She felt that her dad has rejected her. She further said, not to be counted among his father’s daughters. She continued to tell the father not to bother about her life again. She then left her home to unknown place.

Many children are passing a lot as Melvin and they end up making very difficult decision in their lives.

Parents are being asked to treat their children equally to avoid misunderstanding among family members. They are also asked to support their children to achieve their dreams. Well-wishers can come out and assist children who are determined as Melvin.
