Tribute To Mr Arabang Otukile Maupong
By: Dr. Paula O.M.Otukile

Mr Arabang Otukile Maupong was born in Shoshong, and was from Ditlharapeng ward. He was a great farmer and loved agriculture so much.
Grandfather to the greatest author Dr. Paula O.M.Otukile has taken eternal sleep. He rested at his house In Mahalapye with his loving family.
Mr Arabang was a great farmer, at Gwape lands where he retired with his beloved wife the late Mrs Tshwanelo Otukile.
He came back to Mahalapye village, upon the demise of the love of his life, his beloved wife Tshwanelo, and he stayed in Mahalapye.
His prime he worked in the South African mines and years later he came back home, and joined the Botswana rural roads where he progressed as a foreman upon his retirement which was a great term for a boss in layman’s language.

Grandpa Otukile was a smart old man who loved himself, dressed elegantly, and adored his suits and ties. He was a doting family man, as he supported author Dr Otukile and was with her on her first Newspaper interview.
He was a man of laughter and loved comedy and joking around. He was a profound storyteller and loved his lineage as he supported all his nephews earnestly.
The beautiful part of Grandpa Otukile was being a leader of his clan, and loved to be there in weddings and funerals and knew the rites of passage by heart, encouraged, cultural heritage and instilled discipline on the youth.
He was very immaculate in everything he did, loved his kids so much and his grandchildren. He was a great man.
He is survived by his seven children, and seven grandchildren and his younger brother.
