Alcohol and drug abuse among the youths especially those in campus is a threat to the society. Most of the youths are addicted; they depend fully on drugs as they have made drugs a part of their diet.
Staggering youths around the university premises is a common sight, these youths do not care about the side effects of drug abuse, all they want is to get drunk and enjoy campus life. Any gathering without drugs is no enjoyment. Youths enter university to acquire degree but they finish as drug addicts.
The society is slowly losing its values and worth, its morals are eroding as all sorts of immoralities are infused in the society, thanks to drug abuse. Addicted youths engage in all sorts of crimes like rape and robbery worse is that, these youths are perverts and they use vulgar language, euphemism vanished from in their vocabularies long time ago.
Alcohol and drug abuse is killing the future of the youths. Addicted youths become irresponsible as some drop out of school and engage in crime, some are slaves of their own existence, what keeps them going is another chance to get drunk.
For a community to remain morally upright, the addicted youths should be rehabilitated. A society with drunken youths is a cursed society.
