Celebrations reaches pick fever in all Nyeri County major towns following the development.
Hundreds of locals led by UDA leaders, aspirants and Kenya Kwanza Nyeri chapter lobby group addressed the supporters where they called on them to vote in the UDA aspirants led by the presidential nominee team.
Among those who addressed the supporters in various towns included Nyeri County governor Mutahi Kahiga, and aspirants, Wahome Wamatinga (senate), Maina Mathenge (Nyeri Town), Njoroge Wainaina alias Chieni (Kieni), Speaker John Kaguchia (Mukurwe-ini), Wambugu Wainaina (Othaya) and Geoffrey Wandeto (Tetu).
On Saturday, protests locked Karatina town,Β the headquarters of Mathira constituency which is represented in Parliament by Gachagua after rumours streamed in that he was not the preferred Deputy President nominee.
Thousands of UDA members, aspirants and supporters had gathered at Aberdare Resort near Karatina town waiting for the Dr Ruto to announce his preferred choice.
As time went by and it emerged, someone else was being preferred by a section of parliamentarians who were at DP’s Karen residence, those at the Karatina Hotel protested, giving the DP ultimatum to name their son or forget their support.
