The Public Investments Committee on Social Services Administration and Agriculture was yesterday forced to stop a sitting with the National Communication Secretariat Eng. Vincent Adul after it turned out that he was a stranger before the Committee.
This was after Engineer Adul in his introductory remarks said that he had been in office for fifteen days without an appointment letter.
“Hon. Members, I got a letter from the PS dated 17th of May this year asking my predecessor to hand over to me. Until today, I haven’t been given a letter of appointment”, he went ahead to clarify to the committee.
This was after the committee chairperson Emanuel Wangwe from Navakholo constituency sought to know how Eng. Adul had been assigned the position to lead the organisation.
“I want to agree with colleagues here, that we release you. We thank you for honouring the invite, but it’s unfortunate we can’t continue interrogating you. We shall have the sitting when the right person is in office”, Wangwe directed.
Members of the committee thereafter unanimously agreed to adjourn on the basis of having a stranger before the committee; an amorphous entity with no substantive head, and for the entity projecting an amorphous entity that is not responsible for their affairs, since he kept referring to the State Department of Communications, a different entity all together.
