Bloggers Warned Against Spreading Lies in social Media called to preach Peace

Kisii County aspiring governor Simba Arati under ODM party has warned bloggers against spreading lies in social media against political leaders to antagonize them with clerics.
This is after some bloggers created fake facebook to tarnish his name that they have bribed Bishop.
Addressing the press in Kisii County, the Mp noted some bloggers are being used by some unscrupulous leaders to create a wedge between his team- Dr Robert Monda, running mate, Kitutu Chache South Mp, Richard Onyonka, Senator, Dorice Donya Aburi, Woman Representative and church leaders for selfish political interest.
He cited information in social media which claimed that they gave local bishop money as a gift when they visited him at his residence terming it false, malicious and uncalled for.
“We visit Bishops, priests, pastors and Imams for prayers. We respect the bishop. He is not the person to blog about” he said alleging they had been hired by a local powerful politician.
The Lawmaker cited that the bloggers had created a fake Facebook account of Douglas Ogari, his supporter which they used to tarnish the image of the Bishop to create the impression it belonged to Ogari, who has since denied.
He said the leaders enjoy cordial relationship with church leaders, adding that they have embraced peaceful campaigns and visit churches for prayers and blessings.
He said Ogari had recorded a statement at a police station and appealed to investigators to hasten their probe for the perpetrators to face the law, stressing they will not allow bloggers to attack church leaders under the guise of politics.
Bonchari parliamentary Aspirant, Jonah Onkendi said that let the bloggers not to drag the church into politics.
Mr Onyonka dismissed the allegations by the bloggers saying they want the bishop to hate the Arati team for no reason and cautioned them against soiling the bishop’s name.
According to Onyonka the bloggers wanted to portray his team as being against the church, stressing that they will not succeed.
The leaders urged the bloggers not to be used by politicians to use the church to divide Kisii county residents as the country heads to the August 9 General Election.
They called for peaceful and urged the voters to choose leaders wisely citing that their team will bring more development in the county.
