Bobasi Constituency incumbent Mp Innocent Obiri has secured his seat for the second term under Wiper party.
Obiri vied for the seat 2007, 2013 and won in 2017 .
The Year 2017 Mr Obiri vied for the seat under People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Obiri garnered 20,957 votes followed by Steven Manoti (Jubilee party) 13, 192
and Wilkins Nyangweso 11, 205 .
The total number of registered voters was 106, 230 and the valid casted votes 67485 votes.
Speaking with the press, Mr Obiri said that he is ready to work with all and welcomed his competitors to join hands with him to foster development of the constituency.
He said that he is a leader who will work with the people regardless of whether they supported him or not.
“I will serve my people with due diligence am now ready to complete incomplete projects, Mr Obiri said.
He welcomed his opponents and asked them to remain as brothers.
“We are not enemies, politics will come and go, but we remain as brothers and sisters, “he said.
Mr Obiri said that he is going to fulfill the promises he made to the residents.
He cited that, the election was free, fair and transparent; the voters chose the leader they wanted.
According to him Bobasi Constituency all through they have been campaigning peacefully.
This is the first time Bobasi Constituency has elected an Mp consecutively.
Development
The year 2021 Mr Obiri commissioned Rusinga Primary School ksh. 18 million blocks constructed from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG CDF) kitty, the Block has eight classrooms, an administration office and a computer room.
He also handed over a site to the contractor to construct a dormitory at Rusinga secondary school at a cost of Ksh. 22.5 million. The two-storey dorm will accommodate 400 students.
Some schools have been given buses to enhance education and performance in examination.
Roads
Some roads in Bobasi Constituency are all nearly tarmacked while others are motorable.
Bursary Funds
Mr Obiri has been dispersing the bursaries fairly to all the students.
