“When such as I cast out remorse
So great a sweetness flows into the breast”
(W. B. Yeats in A Dialogue of Self and Soul)
In this quiet,
I let go –
The weight of yesterday
Falls soft as snow.
I measure each scar,
Hold the brittle edges,
Feel the warmth
Of where I’ve stumbled.
Here, I forgive,
Let regret sink
Back to earth,
Its shadow thinning.
Bare,
I find myself,
Whole enough,
And breathing free.
