Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Zachariah Njeru was yesterday hosted by Tana Water Works Development Agency where he inspected, launched and commissioned several projects in Nyeri County.Β The CS and his team began the busy day by visiting the agency headquarters at Maji House in Nyeri town before paying courtesy call to the area County Commissioner and governor where matters being handled by his ministry were discussed.
The CS launched Matuto primary school borehole in Mukurwe-ini Constituency, had a meeting with residents of Githagara, Karuthi and Mairo at Githagara trading centre at the boundaries of Mukurwe-ini and Othaya constituencies.
Later he commissioned Kinyaiti-Kandeki Community borehole and eventually ended the day by launching Kiawara Wastewater Decentralised Treatment facility in Kieni constituency.
During the tour, the CS was accompanied by the agency Chief Executive Officer Eng. Philip Gichuki as well local leaders led by MPs; John Kaguchia (Mukurweini), Wambugu Wainaina (Othaya), Njoroge Wainaina (Kieni), Senator Wahome Wamatinga as well as a number of MCAs.
The CS expressed the Kenya Kwanza administration commitment to have enough water for domestic, livestock and Irrigation for all Kenyans.
