Clearance of political candidates by IEBC kicks off at Kisii, As it they lament over poor system making them to wait for long hours

Speaking at Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) constituency office in Nyaribari Chache, incumbent Member of Parliament who is vying for his third time in office Richard Tong’i said it took him hours to be cleared because of the poor system.
“Have been cleared to run for Nyaribari Chache constituency under Jubilee ticket after I met all the requirements now have started my campaigns,” said Tong’i.
He asked politicians to carry out peaceful campaigns and avoid derogative language that might lead to dividing people.
ODM candidate James Kenani who was also cleared said that the system was very slow citing that he was to be cleared by 11:00Am hours cleared but ended up staying for long because of the poor system.
“The system is very slow, they should implement a new system which is updated and loads faster to stop making us wait for long or have alternative system as a backup,” said Kenani.
He said he had plans to have a rally within the constituency but now he had to cancel for waiting long at the IEBC office.
Zhaheer Jhanda UDA candidate urged the politicians and to maintain peace and unit as they sell their agenda to the public.
Jhanda advised his supporters to allow other politicians to campaign regardless of their political parties.
