CS Bore Visits Mombasa County To Oversee The Work On Disability Inclusive Social Protection Initiatives

Cabinet Secretary, Florence Bore visited Tom Mboya School for Children with Cerebral Palsy. It Started in 1995 as a special unit with 5 learners but now has 146 learners. She listened to the concerns and requests from the administration of the school who work tirelessly to support the learners.
With partners ,Shaheen Nilofer, Representative, UNICEF Kenya County Office, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Gunnar Andreas Holm and Josephine Mwangi, Programme Manager, Embassy of Sweden. The ministry aims for Inclusion for persons with disabilities, especially children’s needs and accessibility to school and education systems
The day started with a courtesy call at the office of Mombasa County commissioner, Ronald Mwiwawi
In the afternoon, The CS meets learners at Tudor Special School for the intellectually challenged. To get firsthand experience and appreciated the efforts made to integrate schooling for leaners with disabilities and the skills taught by the teachers to empower the children.
CS later paid a call on Mombasa County government who has made great efforts in promoting inclusive education for children with disabilities.
