DCI George Kinoti leaving office

The 11th Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti yesterday handed over office to the new acting Director General Dr Hamisi Masa.

This follows his resignation a few days ago as announced by President William Ruto, after serving the country for 30 years.

Mr Kinoti handed over the mantle to Dr Masa who until his appointment in acting capacity by the National Police Service Commission was the deputy Director General of Criminal Investigations.

The outgoing Director General joined the Kenya Police in 1992 as a recruit constable and rose through the ranks to become the country’s top detective, a position he held for 4 years and 8 months.

The dare devil, battle hardened detective who faced off with armed criminal gangs on his way to the top, has had an illustrious career that propelled him to head various specialized units, that hunted down dangerous criminals in the country prior to his appointment.
