You are the king of the months. Our spirit, cleansed by your visit, will prepare for other months. Our good habits are preserved throughout the year and become a tradition, so that our good deeds will lead to great rewards. We will keep the qualities we learned from you for other months.
We are cleansed from sins because of you. In a hadith narrated by Salman Farsi (RA), it is said: “This month is such a month that the beginning is mercy, the middle is forgiveness, and the end is ten days of freedom from hell.” In another hadith, the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and hope for its reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” So, because of your respect, our sins are forgiven for our righteous deeds and donations.
Throughout our lives, we face various trials. Sometimes we suffer from impatience. It seems that a small deficiency turns into a mountain problem. Ramadan fasting educates a person with patience. First, the struggle against the ego begins in the body and soul of a fasting person. In exchange for patiently overcome desires, the fasting person not only fulfills his obligations, but also strengthens his will and achieves victory over his psyche.
The revelation of the Holy Qur’an began with you. It is said in the blessed word of God: “The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed.” Moreover, our Prophet (pbuh) was reciting the whole Qur’an to Gabriel (pbuh) when you came. As a continuation of this beautiful tradition, it is a wonderful virtue that the Holy Qur’an is read in our prosperous mosques and the congregation listens to it.
Honesty is the prelude to virtues. In this regard, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A true word leads its owner to good. Goodness will lead him to paradise. Speaking the truth in you, the month of virtues, leads one to good deeds. In addition, in order for fasting to be perfect, it is important for the fasting person to refrain from such vices as telling lies, inciting and slandering, and hurting people’s tongues with inappropriate words. In this regard, it is said in a hadith: “Whoever does not stop telling lies and does not follow them, Allah has no need for him to give up his food and wine.”
