Democratic Party Of Kenya (DP) Opposes Azimio Coalition Demonstrations

Democratic Party of Kenya has strongly opposed the regular rallies and demonstrations being held by the Azimo Coalition supporters.
The party National Chairman Esau Kioni said the call of mass action by the coalition is like planning a coup and this shows instead dividing Kenyans instead of uniting them.
The party said it is supporting the Hustler Government and will plan to hold dialogue over the challenges facing Kenyans but not plan demonstrations and roadside utterances.
“The demonstrations are meant for individual interests. Kenyans should not allow this.” Said Kioni.
DP Secretary General Dr Jacob Haji said Azimio should give the Ruto Government enough time to address the challenges in the country since demonstrations will not solve problems facing Kenyans including the rising cost of living.
The Chairlady of Young Democrats Mukami Wangui urged the youth not to be misused by the politicians organizing demos adding that they should embrace the initiatives being done by the Government.
The party also resolved that it will not be swallowed by the big coalition parties whatsoever.
The party Deputy Secretary General Wambugu Nyamu lamented that the economic empowerment in the country has been invaded by the Chinese instead of the Government protecting the business.
“The level of production is very high due to the high cost of electricity. government should also innovate ways of growing drought resistant food crops like Cassava, yams etc. Businesses are also being charged too much cess which is oppressing them,” said Wambugu Nyamu.
Delegates from the 8 counties in Mt. Kenya region held a consultative meeting in Nyeri town.
