Democratic Party of Kenya steps up grassroots drive with Laikipia office launch

The Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) has intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election with the official opening of its Laikipia County office in Nanyuki Town and a church service attended by the party’s top leadership over the weekend.
Party leader Justin Muturi led National Executive Committee members in commissioning the office at Sweetwaters Junction on Saturday, describing it as a key milestone in strengthening the party’s presence and engagement with residents in Laikipia. The new office is expected to serve as a centre for coordination, mobilisation and party activities in the county.
The party said the large turnout at the launch reflected growing support for its vision and reaffirmed its commitment to listening to wananchi and advancing people-centred leadership.
DP leaders also praised local party officials for coordinating the successful launch. Among those present were Deputy Party Leaders Jane Mbuthia and C.N. Kihara, National Chairperson Peter Ndubai, Secretary General Jacob Haji, National Treasurer Abdullatif Wagema, National Organising Secretary James Macharia, National Vice-Chair Dr. Juliah Chege, Young Democrats Chairperson Beatrice Njeri and National Women Congress Chair Beatrice Kibobori.
They also addressed a public meeting in the area where the leaders hit at the government for failing Kenyans, urging the citizens to be patient as next year’s General Election will usher in a new leadership.
Yesterday, the party leadership joined congregants at ACK St. Andrew’s Church in Nanyuki for worship, where they emphasized unity, hope and service to the nation.
They said the message reinforced their commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous Kenya while seeking God’s guidance as the party continues its nationwide grassroots expansion.
