Laikipia County governor Joshua Irungu with his deputy Reuben Kamuri and other health sector stakeholders at Nyahururu County Referral Hospital during the commissioning of dialysis machines at the facility yesterday.

Patients seeking the services of dialysis machines in areas surrounding Nyahururu town in Laikipia County will now be attended to at the local hospital.
This is after the County Government of Laikipia commissioned Dialysis Machines at Nyahururu Referral Hospital yesterday.
“The State-Of-The-Art kidney dialysis facility with an isolation unit, containing ten beds, is now ready to serve the wonderful people of Laikipia. It is a great relief for our people who are suffering from kidney failure because they will be able to access dialysis services using NHIF coverage without having to travel far,” the governor said after the commissioning ceremony.
The unit is designed to meet the diverse needs of patients with kidney diseases, he added.
The governor said the Nyahururu hospital is now offering renal nursing management, pharmacy, nutritionist, renal clinical nurse consultant, renal support care clinic, and all general nephrology clinic in order to guarantee the ongoing delivery of dialysis services.
During the ceremony, the governor was accompanied by among others, his Reuben Kamuri, County Secretary Koinange Wahome, Assembly Health Committee and County Health Management team as well as the hospital’s management team.
