Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Worth Noting:
- The trees were also power saws: part of the land subdivided and mabati structures were erected and a building was destroyed.
- The raid on 11,000 acre farm took place on the same day that the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga was leading anti-government protests in Nairobi.
- For others, they would be left counting huge loses. This is after the protesters broke into their shops, kiosks, ransack and stole everything.
- As we know, majority of the traders in the city hailed from the Mount Kenya region.
- In light of this, you would not expect them to take lightly claims that former president Uhuru Kenyatta (one of their son) was sponsoring Raila’s demonstration.
I have been following with interest the varied reactions surrounding the recent invasion of expansive Northlands farm belonging to the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The family suffered a huge loss running into millions of shillings. The trail of destruction left no doubt the invaders were out to cause maximum damage.
More than 1000 goats and Dorber sheep imported from South Africa were stolen.
The animals and the meat of those slaughtered were ferried by boda boda riders and sold at a throw away price of Sh500 and Sh 1,000 each to the motorists plying the Eastern By pass.

We know the business people bore the greatest brunt when these demonstrations are held.
The traders would not open their businesses because of fear of looting and destruction.
For others, they would be left counting huge loses. This is after the protesters broke into their shops, kiosks, ransack and stole everything.
Some of the businesses would be set on fire.

We know Raila is out to destroy the Kikuyu businesses because they refused to vote for him.
We want to tell him. We have no regret. We do not owe him anything.
If he think we owe him, let him sort out that with his ‘handshake’ partner, said a senior Kenya Kwanza Kikuyu politician.
Back on Kenyatta’s farm raid, I have had Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s critics dropping his name.
So far, they have not abducted any tangible evidence to support claims.
Yes, it is true Gachagua has been on a warpath with Raila.
He has repeatedly warned him that he is not above the law and the government will not sit and watch him plunge the country into political mayhem and anarchy.
As a government, we have a duty to protect the lives of Kenyans and thier properties.
We know Raila is causing this destruction and havoc because of only one selfish agenda.
He wants to blackmail and force Ruto to share the government with him.
This time, we are telling him. He should forget ‘nusu mkate’ and ‘handshake’ governments.
If you lose an election, accept and move on. Give those elected time to govern the country.
You are an opposition leader: you know your job: stick to it.
Gachagua would however remind him.
The roles of the opposition is not dividing and destroy the country.
You are required to engage the government in structured and constructive dialogue.
We want you to stop bad habit of taking people to the streets and recognize Dr William Ruto as duly elected president of Kenya.
If you heed this call, we are ready to sit down with you.
The agenda will be one. To discuss your terminal benefits and ask you to go on permanent retirement.
Gachagua is forthright and speaks his mind openly.
Perhaps, this is why his critics are trying to drag his name into the raid on Kenyatta.
The DP position has been very clear. The Azimio demonstrations are ruining the businesses of traders and those operating other small businesses like hawkers, mama mboga, boda boda operators.
In light of this, rich and mighty ought to be worried. When there is a break of law and order, no one is safe.
DP Gachagua has been reiterating. Our job as a government is protect all businesses. This is in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.
When we do this, your status does not matter.
