Manchester united have thrown Arsenal out of the FA cup after beating them 5-3 through penalties, this was brought about after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in full time and also a level in the extra time.
Arsenal are the most successful team in this tournament with 14 FA cup titles, followed by their rivals Manchester united who have 13 titles.
This match was more of rivalry than just an FA third round game since every team wants to fight for the legacy by claiming more FA titles ever.
The defending champions now have a walk in the park after being drawn with Leicester in the Fourth round, this may give Manchester united an opportunity to go ahead and fight with their rivals who are also still in the tournament like Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester city.
By knocking Arsenal out, united now have every reason to strive and fight for the 14th FA title which will see them level up with Arsenal in the FA tournament all time history.
After pulling out a draw at Anfield last weekend, Amorim’s 10 men went against all the odds which includes poor officiating from the referee Andy madley who awarded Arsenal a penalty for Kai havertz after diving, also the red card for Dalot was not due.
In a span of one week, Arsenal witnesses their downfall, this is after being eliminated in FA and suffered a huge lose against Newcastle in Carabao semifinal first leg giving them a huge mountain to climb in the second leg at St. Jame’s park early in February.
Mikel arteta needs to go back on the drawing board if he wants to challenge for trophies, this was evidenced after his men failed to finish their chances against 10 Manchester united men and also when they suffered a defeat in the hands of Newcastle in the midweek, the only way out is for him to shop a striker in this January transfer window if he wants to challenge for the champions league and EPL titles this season.
Amorim after being kicked out in Carabao by Tottenham, he has something to fight for in FA cup and Europa league when he will be facing Leicester city and Glasgow Rangers respectively.
