Worth Noting:
- There are people who are famous for being overweight. You could hear people around cracking jokes saying that if you eat excess amounts you could soon be like a certain person. Out of need to gain such fame you could see some people trying to consume excessive amount of food and failing to do exercises forgetting that there are health risks associated with such weight.
- In the streets especially the outskirts of major towns you can easily find people attaching ropes on two posts or trees and trying to walk on it then their fans pay monies to enjoy such shows.
Fame, we may understand, is no sure test of merit, but only a probability of such: it is an accident, not a property of a man.………. Thomas Carlyle.
By definition fame is the state of being known or talked about by many people, especially on account of notable achievements. Human beings are social beings, they enjoy interacting with others, sharing ideas and feeling that they belong to a certain group or community. Respect is something human beings admire. While in midst of others no one wishes to be belittled everyone wish to be recognized and respected.
However there are some people who let their ego dominate them in that they feel that they are more important than the rest of the people. Whenever a privilege arises they want to be the first beneficiary even if they are not the greatest contributor towards securing such an opportunity.
They also want to be the reference point of everyone in their social set up so they try to dominate others in whatever they do. If successful in doing this they enjoy a lot of fame as many will tend to discuss their behaviour whether good or bad. Their ego is massaged.
Rulers like Adolf Hitler who vied on Nazi party, won and became chancellor of Germany in 1933. He was a charismatic leader who was elected by Germans to be their ruler but his actions especially during the second world war have remained unlikeable up to date. No one would be appreciated if he promise or is thought that he will behave like him should he be in power.
Countless books, documentaries and TV shows have been produced to condemn his role in holocaust, his book Mein Kampf’ (my struggle) which he wrote while in prison in 1924 only to be published in two volumes in 1925 & 1927 were banned.

Many others are enticed by income earned and start similar practices forgetting that much as they could gain fame there are a lot of risks involved any miss while on the rope would lead a fall on the ground resulting to serious injuries or even death.
In different locations there are landmarks some being natural features others manmade features. You could find in a certain area someone has built a house in a unique design anyone who wishes to visit the nearby areas is advised to look for that structure or ask where it is.
Another person nearby out of wish to become famous in the area more than the current owner of the most talked about structure may go ahead and build a mega structure uniquely designed. In so doing he would invest huge sums of money which he could have spent on another better income generating project.
Investing in a project so as to outdo the existing one does not necessarily mean that the new project will gain fame like the existing one. It just boosts the chances of people taking interest in the new venture.
In search of fame people do crazy things like bleaching their skins and enlargement of body organs by injecting some medicine. Yes they will become unique and many people would wish to emulate them but all these have side effects which could cost them a lot.
Fame is good especially if it is out of your good deeds like invention or innovation of machines that would make work easier, motivational speaking where you help people boost their self-esteem or any other act that positively impact people’s lives.
You may deliberately put efforts to become famous or you may unconsciously find that you are famous out of something you are involved in that you think it is ordinary. Once famous it is good to ask yourself whether you are in such a situation for a good course or not. Either way you should use your fame to impact the lives of your fans positively.
