The launch in Nairobi, brought together government officials, disability experts, and development partners to champion digital inclusion.

The Hub is a one-stop platform offering practical guides, lived experiences, and knowledge to empower people with Deafblindness and their caregivers. It seeks to bridge the digital divide, promote inclusion, and expand access to education, health, and livelihoods.

During the launch, Mr. Fred Haga, Head of the Directorate of Special Needs Education at the Ministry of Education, urged stakeholders to contribute to the platform.

“The Hub will enhance services for learners with deafblindness. The Ministry fully recognizes and supports this initiative as a vital step toward ensuring that people with Deafblindness can live, learn, and thrive,” he noted.

The launch also coincides with Deaf Awareness Week 2025, reinforcing the urgency of promoting inclusive digital solutions. It also featured a live demonstration of the Hub,  a panel discussion on digital inclusion, and calls to action for government, private sector, and development partners to support the digital rights of people with Deafblindness and MSI.

The Global Deafblindness Resource Hub is now open and accessible online, with  downloadable content available for offline use. Sense International Kenya aims to strengthen connections among parents, teachers, and organizations of persons with disabilities, while enriching resources to better serve persons with Deafblindness and Multi-Sensory Impairments
