Jesus Christ

Covid-19 has subsided another new dawn for the Christian denomination has set. Millions of Christian believers are living today to go to churches or pilgrimage to their sacred places.
This is yet another much respected holiday which brings Christianity fraternity together and set the holy mood.
The night before Jesus died on the cross, He struggled. He was facing a battle. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed for strength.
“He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
(Matthew 26:29 NKJV)Jesus knew his fate and was not afraid to die for a good cause.
Jesus sacrificed himself for the believers and the non-believers so that through him we become saved.
However the question is that does Good Friday and Easter still hold meaning to ordinary men in the streets?
Especially in the modern day, church has become somehow a place that women belong to, while some men chose to party and take trips in this season, lots of international and local artist seeing it as an adventure and advantage to make big festivals. Church is now frequented by senior women more and damsels and less men.
Jesus is said to have become sin. By sacrificing for us he took away the dirt and all the iniquities.
“For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
(2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV)These verses verify the notion that Jesus died for us and that he was a saint but died for us. Three days later after his death when Marry Magdalene and other women went to anoint his body they found out that he rose again.
They met a man who told them he rose and as they went along they realize it was Jesus whom they sought for.
The biblical literature is amazing and gives more hope for the saints as this story uncover the mystery of God, his power and the hope he has for his people.
Some atheists group over the years have came to dispute all these as legends but the truth is that every individual needs faith and belief in hard times and easy times to hold on and to grow.
Another question on the hearts of people is that after so long without mingling, and being closer, won’t this Easter harbor another new variant of Covid 19, or maybe increase the cases as the Covid 19 is not entirely cleared.
Roads accidents and other natural disasters continue to scourge the calm effects of Easter as we saw kzn- Rsa floods past days.
Mount Kenya times and the Diaspora times team wishes all the people a happy and a safe Easter this season.
