How many times have teachers been telling their students to work hard so that they can pass and get a chance to join campus, a place of “entertainment” and “fun”. So for this case, we worked hard not because we want to pursue certain courses, we do so, so as to go and enjoy ourselves.
As I pick my pen to address this matter that has taken deep roots in our society, I remember I once addressed it on 25th December 2021, specifically on media, and the headline was “How media is promoting sex blindly”. I have decided to do it again on a larger scale and perspective. As I write, many large streams of ideas are running in my mind until I lose the starting point. Yes, the Ideas of how sex has totally if not fully lost its value in our modern society. It’s now a mere thing. It’s on every person’s lips. Talk of the town, so to say.
When God created sex, he did so for a major reason and the participants of it were to be only married people. And it was meant for procreation.
During traditional days, it was sacred. It was not to be discussed by ordinary people especially the youths and unmarried. If found, one would be punished severely up to a point of being sent away from the community or entire village. Indeed it was a thing of the past, as sex matters have taken totally a different flourishing route in our modern society.
Our minds nowadays are perverted and trained so to say, think and reason around sex everything we do in this world, must be connected with anything related to intimacy. As I had said earlier, I once tackled this issue specifically on media, so am going not to dwell much on it.
I will just brush it, for the sake of my humble readers who missed it. Media if I can say is one of top most things that are used to spread and encourage irresponsible sex. Yes, it’s perverting the Course of justice for what sex was meant to be. Ranging from the music, TV dramas, radio magazines, newspapers and adverts, all must have some forms of sexual content in them to sell and capture the audience.

I have witnessed this so many times, for teachers to make a point to be understood, they must incorporate the use of sex as examples for better understanding. Now this has been translating from verbal class teachings to practical whereby we have been seeing teachers who are meant to be guardians and mentors at school, involving in sexual practices with students. What’s the point here then? Sex is finally in our education sector, and we must acknowledge if not accept it.
Because we know that sex is sacred and need to be respected, we have found a better and proper way of addressing it. We have given it so many new names, nicknames, so as to cover it but continue practicing it. If one is demanding for it, he won’t go straight and say “sex” he will use phrases like “miti”,”kuni” etc in a way that looks more polite, so as to do it comfortably.
These names differ from each other as it all depends with the environment, places like hospitals, schools, offices etc, participants and something ironical is that we want to get involved in it, but don’t want to address it directly. It reminds me of a Book I read ” Social Ethics Morality and Social Policy” authored by Thomas A. Mappes and Jane S.Zembaty, I found this amazing example that…one may be pardoned for wondering whether sexual intercourse often occurs under the following Conditions.
“Hello, my name is Josiah. I am interested in having a sexual experience with you. I can assure you that I am good at it and that I have no communicable diseases. If it sounds good to you and have taken the proper contraceptive precautions, we might have a go at it. Of course I want to make it clear to you that am interested only in the sexual experience and that I have no intention of making any long-range commitment to you…”
“He is poor in bed”, “He is weak, he gets tired faster”,”Hanitosholezi vile nataka”.Am sure you have heard of these derogatory remarks that demean men sexually. But looking from another view, such like comments tell us one thing in particular, many marriages today are built on basis of sexual satisfactions, not love and compassion and bringing of children. Many of them have broken, divorced just because there was no satisfaction on bedroom matters.
Now it’s like competition, so as to sustain marriage and keep it stable, many men have indulged in using blue pills and other drugs meant to increase their libido, where many have ended up dying. Of course we have heard if not seen people who died in the middle of the act in hotel’s lodgings. In the same vein, it’s so sad to see woman moving around looking for “well skilled” men on bed, without considering their health status. Many have been infected while looking for satisfying sex partners.
In my book, I think everyone is a prostitute, sexually. Why say so, the English Oxford Advanced dictionary defines a prostitute as a person who has sex for money. The moment you engage in sex in exchange of money, you automatically become a prostitute. It’s not a must you be or stand on the streets at night. Let the truth be told, it’s nothing of a secret that today sex is on a higher scale as a means of income. Sex for money. No wonder young people (15 -28 years) are seriously sleeping with so called “sponsors” for money.
Still on the same note, many are now using it as a way of winning cases. It’s sad to hear of men rotting in jail after they were accused of rape, by their wives or sexual partners. Does it not sound ironical?.
Sexual content has become a priority on Things To Do List. If you decline sexual favours, then you are seemed to be weak, stupid and abnormal. The society today doesn’t allow anyone to reject free sex. We have no Biblical Joseph’s today.
As I conclude, knowing that I have left a lot to address in this world turned to be Sodom and Gomorrah, the only thing I can say is that sexual content is all over, it’s you to dance to its tune or not knowing that your body is the temple of God and every choice has got a consequence.
