Naivasha, Kenya — Housing Principal Secretary Mr. Charles Hinga led a delegation in planting 2,000 trees at his former school, Naivasha Boys Boarding Primary School, as part of the national Mazingira Day celebrations.
The exercise formed part of the Government’s countrywide tree planting and growing campaign, aimed at conserving the environment, restoring ecosystems, and increasing forest cover across the nation.
Through his visionary leadership, the Affordable Housing Project continues to make steady progress across the country, transforming communities and providing thousands of Kenyans with access to decent and dignified housing.
Mr. Hinga’s return to his alma mater was both symbolic and inspirational — highlighting the importance of giving back to institutions that shape future generations, while also fostering environmental stewardship among learners.
“Today is about more than planting trees — it’s about growing a culture of care for our environment and our communities,” said PS Hinga. “Every tree we plant is an investment in a greener, cleaner, and more resilient Kenya.”
The event brought together pupils, teachers, community members, and government officials in a collective effort to promote environmental conservation and sustainability.
