July 17, 1998, a treaty known as Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court was signed, since then the day is celebrated as the World Day for International Justice.
This day is observed in order for people to commemorate the different ways that justice has been brought to life through advocates of law as well as the establishment of modern court systems around the world.
This day is also aimed at advocacy of human rights and bringing justice to victims of crimes against humanity.
This year will be marking 20 years since the creation of International Criminal Court which Investigates and where warranted, tries the individuals charged with gravest crimes of concern to the international community.
Many have suffered under the crimes committed against them but since the inception of The International Criminal Court and such improvements in the judicial system internationally, the victims will most certainly receive the justice they deserve.
