Journalism, although the second oldest profession, is still and does not have a consistent and universally recognized theory.
Even today, journalism we don’t know what it is. Is it a form of social consciousness and a means of changing life or like painting, music, architecture, theater and cinema?
Or does literature include poetry, drama, prose, and literary translation as a separate concept? The works of many influential scientists on the theoretical issues of journalism, despite all their importance and depth, contain contradictions and, unfortunately, do not fully answer the questions.
The question of journalism and the journalist’s role in modern human life
seems very important. A journalist is, of course, a creator of a text for the mass media, or rather a media text, but today a media text is a feature film, commercial, could be a gameplay demo or a composite photo.
That’s why what distinguishes journalism from other writing professions today?
We must understand. In my opinion, the main thing in journalism
is to rely on the truth, the real events of reality.
A journalist is always true is also a literary worker who works with existing “raw materials”, that is, with the events of the event.
In order to understand what kind of society we live in, it is very important to answer the question about the role of journalism and journalists in our life and attitudes as professionals, in our worldview, in the space of personal life.
This process is not simple and ambiguous, because the modern man in society gradually loses his exclusivity, his uniqueness, he becomes a part of mass consumer society, and in politics he is less and less taken into account by decision-makers.
When talking about the responsibility of the journalist, we should not forget that the responsibility in the mass media is divided into different “responsibilities”: for example, the responsibility to the owner and the responsibility to the society can directly collide.
A journalist abstractly represents his audience, the people who read and listen to him, and he is responsible for them, but often the person who pays him is more important to him.
In addition to these forms of responsibility, others can be named.
