That Kenya must be free
And that poverty must flee
Total freedom we must get
Is something we can’t bet
Kenya must be fully independent
For years people have suffered
Many a problem they have haboured
Unity to them, a strange word
Resulting to the use of sword
Kenya must be fully independent.
In Kenya, let’s promote peace
In Kenya, let’s be in one piece
That we may have one voice
That’s of our own choice
And that Kenya must be fully independent.
