Kenya National Congress (KNC) party leader, Manson Oyongo, vying for Kisii county governor’s seat has unveiled his running mate and Woman Representative and pledged to transform the county if elected.
Oyongo who picked Dr Alfred Ndemo from Bogettu clan and Julie Nyanchama, ( Bonchari), saying he will work with a Senator from another party.
Speaking during a delegates meeting at waterbuck attended by aspirants for parliamentary and ward representative said he has given other parties a chance to elect a Senator who can over-sight him.
” I urge my agents to campaign for me at the grassroots so that I can win the seat and bring forward looking change. I implore voters to use their votes to bring a change through me” Oyongo stated.
The Aspirant, who received Dr Julius Gekonde,Job Omanga and Naomi Bosire who defected from ODM, United Democratic Alliance ( UDA) and Peoples’ Democratic Party ( PDP) to KNC said if elected, urged leaders to join local parties and strengthen them.
Omanga and Dr Gekonde are vying for Bomachoge Chache and Nyaribari Masaba parliamentary seats respectively.
Mr Oyongo said if elected governor, he will form cooperative societies for youths and women to access interest free loans to invest to boost their lives, adding that the members will guarantee each other in the revolving fund.
The Aspirant, accompanied by Secretary General, Ben Gisore said he will prioritize agriculture and ensure that farmers get subsidized fertilizer to boost agricultural production to enhance food security, adding he would improve roads for farmers to ferry their goods to markets.
” I will ensure that in a hundred days, all residents will acquire the National Hospital Insurance Fund ( NHIF) cover to foster the Universal Health Care program” Oyongo said, adding he will ensure locals access clean and safe water for drinking and animals.
Gisore said the party will not conduct nominations but will give aspirants tickets directly.
Those who are in in gubernatorial race are Rachael Otundo , Chris Obure (Jubilee), Ezekiel Machogu (UDA), Simba Arati (ODM),Prof Sammy Ongeri (DAP ), Charles Matoke (ANC )and Alfred Nyangweso.
